8 hour course covering:

Understanding your system, how it works, and where the weak links may reside.

Conventional AC timers, battery operated timers, DC and AC solenoids, solar units, as well as 2-wire decoder systems.

How to properly diagnose issues in the field related to wiring and or other electrical components of your irrigation system without leaving your controller.

The use of volt-ohm meters and how to diagnose wiring problems based on their readings.

The most effective and efficient steps to sort out confusing electrical problems so you’ll have an understanding of the next step in resolution.

Detailed discussions and demonstration on the correct wire connection techniques for residential, commercial, and 2-wire wiring for Irrigation including
the tools to do so.

  • Proper wire sizing based on run lengths and other operational considerations
  • Proper wire path installation technics will be discussed.
  • You will understand proper grounding techniques and the importance of grounding.

Although this is not a certification course there will be a 30 minute exam at the end of this course.

Students will be asked to bring various tools to the class with them for hands on learning opportunities.

Students will need to provide their own tools and parts for this course.  Tool and Part List Requirements
